Every learner needs to have the time to be able to pursue their interests alongside preparing for examinations. The time that learners spend in academic sessions with our facilitators is scheduled according to each learner's personal schedule. It enables them to pursue their passion/goals.
We have created an efficiency innovation in how a day in the life of a learner may be organized. Learners are empowered with Learning-to-Learn techniques that help them in isolating ambiguities and subsequently learning them thoroughly.
Beyond 8 digital portfolios serve as a model of our assessment. Learners document their journeys as presentations or writings of their learning opportunities and experiences, with specific focus on reflections. This method has shown to be a more accurate representation of learning than the commonplace standardized testing. It is also owned by the learner, not by us.
We assess our learners based on other parameters such as their successful participation in our growth mindset program and their abilities to apply acquired skills in real world around us
Beyond 8 provides academic support that is comparable to conventional schools, with higher customization and autonomy for the learners.
“ Beyond 8 at HLC helped incubate my zest for public speaking. They helped bring my idea of organizing a one-of-a-kind interschool debate conference into fruition. While brainstorming for the conference, we had flexible working hours to connect with the teachers and have regular meetings. There was emphasis on the importance of learning beyond the classroom and student led learning. This allowed me to take initiative to teach high schoolers debate and public speaking after school. Beyond 8 at HLC also gave me the opportunity to volunteer at a regional ISDS tournament and helped me realise that public speaking extends beyond educational institutions and that it is a life skill

“ My friends often complain they don’t have enough time to do what they really love. But I’ve never had to worry about this. Beyond 8 at HLC has enabled me to follow my true passion - Carnatic Music. On many occasions, I have taken time off from school to perform, to attend music classes, to practice, or even just to listen to a concert. In fact, I owe it to Beyond 8 that I have been able to discover how much music means to me. Till you reach a certain stage in any field, you can’t gauge its place in your life accurately. But to reach such a stage, you must have the opportunity to invest a good amount of time in it, which it unconditionally allowed me to do.
