The Debts From College Education

The Debt From College Education?

While we are aware of news and laws requiring University education to lead to gainful employment in the US, we do not know a lot about the graduation rates; and we must, because only those that graduate can even apply for jobs and subsequently hold on to them gainfully.

Last year, in the US, 231 four-year colleges graduated less than 25 percent of their full-time students within eight years of enrolment. An additional 615 colleges reported rates below 50 percent. The number of students that enrol every year but do not complete their college education is nearly 1.5 million.

Awful, isn't it?

Well, college education today is a double whammy for many students. Either they are in the repaying student loans lot that owes more than $1.6 Trillion or in the lot that never graduated.

I would imagine this is similarly true for young adults in India. My advise to students is play more Truth or Dare.

We must all either speak the truth about the uselessness of University education in so many of our Universities or seek an education outside University that leads to fulfilling lives and successful careers. If we don't smarten up quickly, the debt burden of poor choice-making will set our students back even further than their University education will.

We are not an alternative school.
We are the alternative to schooling.
